Meet Our Principal
Zena Renee Vaughn: Mrs. Vaughn has been involved in education for 26 years. She joined Cincinnati Achievement Academy in June of 2020 following 13 years of service as Principal at Life Skills High School. She began her teaching career in 1994 at Zion Temple Christian Academy as a preschool, then 1st grade teacher for 5 years. She then joined Hamilton County Educational Service Center, Head Start as a Family Advocate. Shortly after, she was promoted to Human Resource Manager and successfully worked in that capacity for 6 years. Mrs. Vaughn eagerly seized the opportunity to return to the classroom, taking a job with United Cerebral Palsy as a Transition Teacher teaching transition skills to students with disabilities at Princeton, Indian Hills and Cincinnati Public School Districts.
Mrs. Vaughn grew up in Cincinnati. Living in Lincoln Heights, she attended Princeton City Schools and graduated a proud Viking. She continued her education at Cincinnati State, Central State University and Willington College obtaining degrees in Business Management and Business Administration specializing in Leadership. She also holds her SHRM certification in Human Resources.
Mrs. Vaughn is prepared and ready to serve you and your child’s educational, social and emotional needs. She has partnered with C.H.O.I.C.E.S. Behavioral Health for full wrap around services on the school’s campus, including after school programing beginning in January.
Mrs. Vaughn believes knowledge is depth. It goes pass teaching and learning. She believes in believing – in others and in something bigger than ourselves. She believes in the power of diversity and the promise of inclusion. She believes in first impressions, second chances and that with the right help, everyone can get to where they want to go. She believes music sets the tone of life, caring is contagious, a good laugh is a great thing and no kind act is too big or small. She believes in heroes, dreamers, teamwork and leaders eating last. Mrs. Vaughn is a humble servant that believes in purpose and destiny, that teaching is a calling, learning is a passport, research is a life line and hope is a promise in which all possibilities are limitless.
Principal Vaughn desires to partner with every family to provide an inclusive learning environment promoting positive experiences and academic success for all. An environment that values and embraces each child’s uniqueness and supports their own individual greatness.
